Put it on your phone
Two taps. No store, no download, no account.
A New Life is a web page, which means there is nothing to install in the usual sense — and also means your phone will happily put it on the home screen and treat it like anything else on there. It opens full screen with no browser bar, it works with no signal, and the life you are in the middle of stays exactly where it was.
- Full screen No address bar eating the top of the year. It looks like an app because it is running like one.
- Works with no signal The whole game is on the phone once it has loaded. The underground, an aeroplane, a lift — it does not care.
- Your life is already saved It saves itself in this browser as you play, and installing does not move it or lose it.
- Free, and staying free Nothing to pay, nothing to sign up to, and no store taking a cut of a thing that is free anyway.
How, on your phone
iPhone or iPad Yours
- Open anewlifesim.com in Safari. It has to be Safari — Chrome on an iPhone cannot do this one.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom: the square with an arrow coming out of it.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. It is on your home screen, with the rest of them.
Android Yours
- Open anewlifesim.com in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu, top right.
- Tap Install app — or Add to Home screen, depending on the phone.
- Tap Install. It arrives in the drawer and on the home screen.
Chrome often offers this by itself after a few minutes of playing. If a bar slides up from the bottom saying to install, that is the same thing and it is quicker.
Computer Yours
- Open anewlifesim.com in Chrome or Edge.
- Look for the small install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar — a screen with an arrow pointing into it.
- Click it, then Install. It gets its own window and its own icon.
- On Safari for Mac: File → Add to Dock.
Two things worth knowing
Your save lives in the browser you played it in. Installing from Safari keeps the life you played in Safari; installing from Chrome keeps the one you played in Chrome. If you want to carry a life across, finish it in the browser you started it in.
Clearing your browsing data clears the life. There is no account and no server, which is the trade: nobody has your data, and nobody can get it back for you either.
